It is 192 km from southwards of Harare and 100km north of Masvingo. It's also 84km eastern side of Gweru.

CHURCH HISTORY

The first known church building was opened in 1921 in Mvuma town, now ward 13 and is still in existence with a capacity of 50 parishioners. When the number of parishioners increased in number two centres were established one at District Administrator' camp and Blinkwater area known as St Jacobs. At the latter masses are still conducted on Thursdays or Friday's to cater for the elderly.

ST Theresa mission is currently located in ward 24 sandwiched between the Athens mine compound and Mushayavhudzi location ward 14. It was built in the premises of ST Theresa Primary school which was established in 1951. The school hall was used as a church building since then with a capacity of about 150 congregants.

The parishioners then moved to the new church which was financed by Priest Fr Josef Haag and was officially opened by the then Bishop Martin Munyanyi on7 November 2010. The church has a capacity of 400 congregants. After the church building, a convent was built financed by Fr Josef Haag and was occupied in 2013 and can accommodate up to four sisters. A Presbyterian then followed with a capacity to accommodate two priests and guests and was inhabited in 2017 with Father Simon Mavhiya as the first priest. This resulted in St Theresa being accorded the mission status independent from Drierfontein Mission.

ST Theresa mission now has five outstations namely,
