Economic conditions in the area

It has a rural base composed of subsistence farmers who finds it difficult to make ends meet. The soil is sandy and the rains are erratic. As a result poor yields are produced annually. These are insufficient to provide enough food and raising school fees for children. Also the AIDS pandemic and economic melt-down of 2003 – 2008 left many child headed families since most parents died or migrated to South Africa in search of greener pastures. Currently BEAM is assisting children. The Bethlehem mission society is also assisting together with Muvonde Orphan Care.

These safety nets have not managed to assist all vulnerable children in the area. The list of disadvantaged children is increasing daily hence the need for other well-wishers to join so as to the needy children with fees and food.

Does the school have the functional SDC? YES
